It has been estimated that Singapore may phase out 3G connection as soon as 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) has rolled out an 8 week long research involving the public\u2019s feedback on the connections to aid its development of relevant regulatory frameworks and policies with the upcoming change.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to IMDA, there has been an average decrease of 22% in 3G users yearly from 2016 to 2019. As of February this year, there\u2019s only 1.81million 3G users as compared to 6.68million 4G users. With that said, that is still quite a significant amount of 3G users, which comprises of regular users, for business use and tourists. There has been a steady increase in 4G users as it provides better service and greater speed, which improves the overall user experience.<\/span><\/p>\n
